Quality Material is the Key to Quality Parts

Steel is the primary material used in building gas and oil industry equipment. However, because of the environmental and manufacturing stress on the material during the mining, transport, and refining of oil, parts materials like steel must meet rigorous standards.

For example, sulfur and hydrogen contained in crude oil are corrosive to the drilling and transport parts (pipelines) they touch. Additionally, the high heat of the refining process can make steel parts brittle and weak.

To combat the corrosives that are “organic” to the oil drilling, transport, and refining processes, a carbon-steel alloy of 2% carbon can help strengthen steel and make it less susceptible to corrosion.
